SOURCING
Sustainability has been integral to everything we do. At Credo sustainable, responsible manufacturing, sourcing and humane treatment of factory workers is fundamental to our business philosophy.
We only work with 100% organic cotton and recycled materials. At Credo we work closely with our suppliers to source only the best raw materials, grown or produced in ways that do not harm people, animals or the environment. We exclusively use 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, recycled polyester and other sustainable materials such as Modal®.

Since day one, it’s always been about giving back, protecting the places we play and leaving the smallest of footprints.
Since the start we have integrated sustainability into everything we do, making deliberate decisions about who we work with, how we work & what materials we use.
Using business as a force for good. Our road to becoming certified as a B Corp™. Simply put, certified B Corps are companies who are committed to prioritising the environment and society in the way they do business.
We want to improve ocean health through the business decisions we make. We’ve always been committed to finding the best packaging solutions possible. In 2021 we introduced our new garment bags, eliminating the last piece of non-degradable single-use plastic from our packaging. Building on this success, we’ve created a new mailer bag that does even more with fewer materials.
Surfers Against Sewage is a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife. We're just like you – we love our oceans. We'd like to see them better protected for the future for everyone.

We are certified by the best. Our supply chain is certified by various independent bodies and standards. Each of these certifications demonstrate that we are working towards building healthy environmental practices and greater respect for the planet, every step of the way. We also encourage our Dealers to implement GOTS Certified printing techniques which use non-harmful inks and sustainable production methods. So that we can affirm that our finalized, decorated garments are 100% fully sustainable.
We keep pushing for new sustainability initiatives. We know there is no magic formula for achieving sustainability, but we sure enjoy coming up with new, innovative ways of working to have a positive impact on people and the Planet. From subsidizing fair-priced grocery shops in our partner factories, to recycling fabric waste and co-funding electric bikes for our HQ staff, we’re constantly developing new ideas to make a difference.

OUR COMMITMENTS FOR 2025
WORLD SOIL DAY: HOW CREDO TAKES BIODEGRADABILITY SERIOUSLY
Sustainability
Today, there is growing concern about the effect of the textile industry on the environment. Not only can the production of fibres and clothes present a threat to ecosystems, but the washing of clothes has proven to lead to the release of millions tons of microplastics every year. Increasingly, textile researchers, producers and manufacturers are looking for biodegradable and compostable sustainable fibres as an effective way of reducing the harmful environmental impact of textiles.
“Currently, 72% of all clothes that are thrown away are made of synthetic materials which can take up to 200 years to biodegrade.
We are constantly looking at how we can make our environmental footprint as light as possible. On World Soil Day, we think it’s important to consider how we can best protect soil biodiversity and raise awareness of the importance of soil quality for human well-being and ecosystems.
At Credo we pledge to take a number of measures to limit our environmental impact:
We will continue to increase the use of recycled cotton
We will continue to research and use biodegradable & compostable fibres such as Lenzing
We will continue to reduce the use of chemicals for both production and dyeing processes and to favour natural dyes
We will support our customers to use non-toxic solutions, such as water-based inks
We will continue to research bioengineered materials and dyes made from living bacteria, algae, yeast or fungi.
We will continue to refine our packaging.
The health of the Earth’s soil affects us all. By researching new textiles and ways of working, we aim to champion soil health and keep it free of toxins and harmful substances. Why not join us?

The plastic crisis facing the planet is causing untold environmental damage and we believe we have a responsibility to ourselves, our customers and the planet to make our business as sustainable as possible.
